略歴

・ジャン・フランソワ・ミレー　１８１４年～１８７５年
　はじめはサロン展に入選しやすい絵を描きますが、
　１８４８年２月革命下の無審査のサロンに「小麦をふるう人」を出品します。
　１８４９年にバルビゾンの村に移ってからは専ら農民画を描くようになり、
　故郷の風景の中にいる農民を描いた「種をまく人」は１８５１年にサロンに出品しました。
　１９６０年代にミレーは写真と日本の版画に興味を持ちます。大地と農民の生活を描くことに集中してきたミレーは、
　この頃から風景の方に専心していきます。
