    木の中で最も高価な物それは沈香です。お香の中で最も希少で最高級の物は沈香の中でも伽羅と呼ばれ、金の２０倍はします。現在では１ｇ３～４万円ぐらいはします。このピースペンダントはこの沈香の切れっぱしで出来ています。沈香は世界でもベトナムあたりの東南アジアでしか産出されません。沈香は香木と言われますが実際は沈丁花科の木が熱帯地方の沼地で埋もれ木に成り何百年もたった後掘り出されたものです。熱帯の沼地ですので木部は直ぐに腐ってしまい樹液だけが固まり掘り出された物が沈香です。この沈香はえもいわれぬエキゾチックないい香りがし、かつ神経を落ち着ける作用が在ると言われています。女性は肌着と上着の間に、男性は背広の内ポケットの中に入れておくと体温によって身の回りにいい香りが立って来ます。
