【葛飾北斎】
江戸後期の浮世絵師。江戸生。幼名は時太郎、のち鉄蔵、春朗・宗理等三十余の別号がある。浮世絵・狩野派・土佐派の画法を学び、司馬江漢などの洋風銅版画にも関心を寄せるなど、破天荒な修業生活を送る。嘉永２年（1849）歿、90才。
