    岩崎巴人（1917～2010）


    東京生まれの画家・僧侶。
    川端画学校を卒業後、
    同学校研究科に2年間在学し、在学中に青龍社展に初入選。
    その後小林古径に師事。
    1938年の再興第25回院展では横山大観からの評価を得た。
    戦中は応召、戦後は再び院展で入選するが、院展を脱退。
    谷口山郷や長崎莫人らと共に日本表現派を創立。
    1977年には禅林寺で出家。
    以後、仏画家として活躍。

    その画風は、南画的で大胆なフォービズムを特徴とし、
    自由な表現を基本として現代水墨画の大家となる。
