    世界的浮世絵師、歌川国芳。その作の浮世絵版画『みかけはこわいがとんだいいひとだ』です。龍香堂と親交の有る版画研究室から買い取りました。国芳の得意とするユニークな「寄せ絵」のひとつを、手摺木版で忠実に復刻した作品です。

    ◎こちらは額に入れた状態なので、すぐに飾ることが出来ます。

    ●歌川国芳：1797年（寛政9年）江戸日本橋本銀町生まれ。風景版画で国際的に有名な歌川広重とは同年の生まれであり同時代に活動した。幼少期から絵を学び、初代歌川豊国に15歳で入門、奇想の絵師と評され、特に武者絵を得意とし腕を磨いた。やがて質素倹約を旨とする天保の改革により役者や遊女の1枚刷り錦絵は出版不可になってしまうが、国芳は様々な便法で禁令を潜り抜け、ヒネりの効いた幕府風刺の浮世絵で精一杯の皮肉をぶつけた。そのため国芳は江戸の人々の喝采を浴び、その人気は最高潮に達した。西洋画の影響も少なくなく、透視画法を用いた作品もある。無類の猫好きであった。

    【作品解説】『みかけはこわいがとんだいいひとだ』
    一見、１人の人物の顔に見えたものが、見方を変えると複数の人物像に見えるといったもの。江戸時代のトリックアートとも言えるこの様な「寄せ絵」は、国芳の作品群の中でも彼の得意とするカテゴリーのひとつである。裸の人がたくさん集まって、一つの顔を形作っている。鼻は一人の人からなっており、鼻の頭はその人の尻の部分になっている大変面白い一枚である。要所に配された人間の姿には無駄がなく顔や髪の毛、手なども人の体で巧妙に構成され、一体何人の人間が一人の人間を表現しているのか、数えてみるのもなかなか楽しい。
