    1933年-
    大分県生まれ。
    1957年 創元展初出品（以後毎年）受賞7回
    1958年 創元展で副賞第1席受賞。その後6回受賞
    1962年 武蔵野美術大学卒業
    1970年 安井賞候補展出品（以後7回）
    1976年 第8回日展特選／フランス美術賞パリ展受賞(以後2回受賞）
    1979年 第11回日展特選
    1994年 日展審査員／紺綬褒章４回
    現在   創元会理事長 日展評議員
     
    東北の漁村の群像をテーマに、現実を直視した制作を続ける
