菊池契月

明治～昭和の日本画家。長野県生。はじめ児玉果亭、京都に出て内海吉堂についたが、のち菊池芳文の塾に転じ、婿養子となる。文展を中心に活躍、京都画壇に重きを為した。菊池塾を継ぎ、後進の指導にあたる。帝国美術院会員・帝室技芸員・日本芸術院会員。京都絵画専門学校名誉教授。京都市名誉市民。昭和30年（1955）歿、77歳
