    シモーネ・マルティーニは、14世紀のシエナ派を代表する画家で、彼の作品は優雅で繊細な宮廷美術を称えています。彼の絵画「聖女マルガリータと聖アンサヌスのいる受胎告知」は、ウフィツィ美術館に収蔵されており、イタリアのゴシック期の傑作とされています。
     
    この祭壇画は、テンペラと金箔で制作された三連の作品で、シモーネ・マルティーニとリッポ・メンミによって描かれました。中央パネルでは、大天使ガブリエルが聖母マリアに降臨し、子イエスの受胎を告げています。聖母マリアは驚きと静けさを併せ持ち、ガブリエルの発話を受け入れています。側面のパネルには聖アンサヌスと聖女マルガリータ（または聖マキシマ）が描かれており、この作品はシエナ大聖堂の側祭壇のために制作されました。
     
    「受胎告知」は、高価な漆と金箔の使用、リアルな人物表現、装飾的な要素などが見事に組み合わさった作品です。シモーネ・マルティーニの独自のスタイルと芸術的な探求心が反映されており、観る者に深い感銘を与えます..
