    タモの多くは北海道で産出されてきましたが、上質なタモは年々少なくなって、入手困難になっています。
    わけてもタモの玉杢は、産出量、備蓄量ともきわめて少なく大変希少性の高い材になっています。
    材はやや重硬で弾力性に優れ、時に美しい文様を現すことがあります。この材は大径木を厚板に挽きなおしたもので全体に高貴な美しい玉杢がまんべんなく入っています。この度はこのめったに出ない材料を使ってペンダントを作ってみました。美しい玉杢を浮き上がらすために仕上げは拭き漆仕上げで仕上げました。
