    長谷部惟光は、(1940-2005)
    日田市に生まれる。
    高校時代から絵を始め、
    就職後も制作を続けて、
    日田市美展や県美展、
    県労働者美術展などで作品を発表して受賞を重ねた。
    1993年、福岡県浮羽郡に転居してからは、
    田園風景を詩情たっぷりに写し出した一連の作品で、
    別府現代絵画展、青木繁記念大賞展、西日本美術展、
    21世紀アート大賞展などに次々と入選を果たして一躍注目を集めている。
