    椿椿山【つばきちんざん】1801‐54(享和1‐安政1)
    江戸末期の文人画家。名は弼，字は篤甫。琢華堂，椿山などはその号。江戸小石川牛天神に住む。幕府の槍組同心で，絵を金子金陵に学んだが，金陵没後，同門の先輩渡辺崋山に師事し，後には明から清にかけて徐崇嗣，惲南田（うんなんでん），張秋谷と継がれた着色花鳥画の伝統を取り入れ，自らの様式を完成した。また崋山の得意とした肖像画も継承発展させた。蛮社の獄(1839)で逮捕された崋山の赦免運動に中心となり，崋山没後もその遺族をよく後見した。
