    「プリンセス・マリー、どちらまでお散歩ですか。
    その潜（もぐ）り橋を渡りますと、人間たちの領土にたどり着きまする。
    人間たちは狂暴で危険。どうかお城までお戻りくださいませ」
    「おやあ、警護のポンポコ男爵。心配は無用よ。
    久しぶりに潜り橋が姿を現したから、ちょっと散歩に出かけるまで。
    夕方までにはイエキ・ド・セ城へ戻るわ」
    「おう、プリンセス・マリー。
    いつも首には金色に輝く真珠のネックレスをお召しなっていたのに、どうなされました。
    あれはイエキ・ド・セ王国のプリンセスの印。もしも無くされたら一大事」
    「ああ、あれは先ほどまでこの橋の上で魚釣りをしていた子供たちにくれてやったわ」
    「そ、そうですか。橋の上に緑色のバケツが二つも置いてあるから変だと思っておりました」
    「その子供たちが、マリーの友達のハステナボシを釣り上げたので、ネックレスと交換で助けてあげたの。
    子供たちも大鯰(なまず）のハステナボシよりもネックレスを気に入ってくれて助かったわ。
    でも首回りがすうすうしてちょっと寒いわ」
    「プリンセス、ちょっと失礼します」
    ポンポコ男爵は慌てて潜り橋を渡り、その子供たちを追いかけた。
