    インドネシア・パプアの樹皮絵画「事業・学業の成功(かわいい白い精霊)」
    インドネシア最東端のイリアンジャヤ州(パプア州。西部ニューギニア)の北海岸、州都ジャヤプラに隣接するセンタニ湖に暮らすセンタニ人は、古代より近年まで樹皮を衣類の素材として利用してきました。まさに天然素材そのものです。南太平洋一帯では広く「タパクロス」として知られています。コンボウ(Kombouw)と呼ばれる神聖な樹木から作った樹皮は、現在では絵画用のキャンバス地として復活し、欧米で高い人気を誇っています。一般に用いられる色は白、黒、茶の三色で、すべて自然素材から作られています。
    真中に描かれた想像上の精霊たちは漁や狩猟の守り神とされ、現代では事業や学業が成功するようにという願いを込められて描かれます。
    すべて自然の素材で出来ているので、木をベースにしたナチュラルな感じの部屋などに飾るとよく合います。素朴でプリミティブなモチーフは目立ちすぎず、おしゃれなインテリアとして最近人気が出てきました。サイズは49 x 72cm。送料はこちらで負担いたします。
