略歴	1907年　福島県河沼郡坂下町に生まれる 1937年　「第12回国画会展」版画部門、木版画初入選 1940年　「会津の冬」の第1号を制作する 1946年　「国画会展」版画部会友・日本版画協会会員となる 1956年　アメリカ国務省、アジア文化財団の招きでアメリカ、メキシコを訪問。各地で実技指導を実施、個展を開催 1981年　秋の叙勲で勳四等瑞宝章の栄誉をうける 1983年　「斉藤清展」神奈川県立近代美術館にて開催 1995年　文化功労者に顕彰される 1997年　やないづ町立斉藤清美術館開館。記念展を開催。11月14日逝去。享年90歳会津の風景と文楽など日本の文化を題材にした版画作品は世界中で愛され、日本を代表する版画作家の一人である
