    1959年に米国ルイジアナ州ニューオーリンズで設立されたソウル・レーベル「ミニット・レコード」（61年にインペリアルと統合、64年にリバティ・レコードに、68年にユナイテッド・アーティストに買収）が、60年～63年に制作したシングルを基に、音楽評論家の“桜井ユタカ”氏の選曲・監修により、80年に日本のみで発売されたコンピレーション・アルバムで、「For Great Collectors Only, R&B歴史的名盤コレクション」シリーズの第4集。
    本盤は、アーニー・ケイドゥー/アーロン・ネヴィル/ダイヤモンド・ジョー/アーマ・トーマス/ショウメン らがシングル・リリースした12組全14曲を収録。
