    アメリカの写真家、リチャード・アヴェドン（1923-2004）のポートレート作品を収録した写真集。本書は、2008年にワシントンのCorcoran Gallery of Artにて開催された展覧会にあわせて刊行されたもの。写真集『Nothing Persona』の収録作品や、2004年の大統領選挙時に撮影された最後のフォトエッセイ「Democracy」などの代表作を掲載。Renata Adlerによる序文、Paul Roth、Frank Goodyearによるエッセイを収録しています。
