    KISSに初のゴールド・ディスクをもたらし、現在はマルチ・プラチナムに輝く全盛期の象徴『DESTROYER』。そのデモ／アウトテイクを一大集成した超・決定盤が爆誕！ 永久保存プレスCDで登場です!!
     そんな本作に刻まれているのは、『DESTROYER』制作時に残された20テイクに及ぶスタジオ録音。当店では独自の関係者ルートで様々なサウンドボード／スタジオ・デモをご紹介してきましたが、本作はその最新弾です。大名盤『DESTROYER』のデモと言えば、これまでも公式45周年ボックスや当店の『STUDIO DEMOS 1975（Zodiac 054）』など様々なタイトルが存在しました。本作はそうした現存デモを総まとめにしているのですが、各テイクも既発コピーではない。全テイクが過去最高のサウンド・クオリティの新マスターで一大集成した超・決定盤なのです。
     そんな本作に収録されたセッションは大きく４種。それぞれ個別にご紹介していきましょう。

    ●1975年８月：MAGNA GRAPHICスタジオ（３テイク）
    ・God Of Thunder（２テイク）／Detroit Rock City
     まず登場するのは、“DRESSED TO KILL Tour”のスキマを縫うように始まった“Magna Graphic Studios”の８月セッション。本録音ではなく、曲を書き、選んでいく段階でした。このセッションはプレス名盤『STUDIO DEMOS 1975』のメインでもありましたが、プロデューサーのボブ・エズリンが採用した曲は「God Of Thunder」「Detroit Rock City」だけ。他の曲は『ROCK AND ROLL OVER』やジーン・シモンズのソロ等、他作品に流用されました。
     そして、本作に収録されているのは、採用になった「God Of Thunder」と「Detroit Rock City」。『STUDIO DEMOS 1975』では１テイクずつでしたが、本作では「God Of Thunder」の別テイクも追加されています。『STUDIO DEMOS 1975』と同じテイクにしても、サウンド・クオリティはまったく別モノ。鮮やかさも立体感も比べものにならず、リマスター加工ではなく明らかに若ジェネなのがハッキリと分かります。
     また『STUDIO DEMOS 1975』には「Mad Dog（Flaming Youthの元ネタ）」「Night Fly（Sweet Painの元ネタ）」もありましたが、それぞれ原曲と言うよりは歌詞やリフなどのパーツ流用。本作の編纂者は別曲としたのか、ここでは採用されていません。

    ●1975年９月：ELECTRIC LADYスタジオ（４テイク）
    ・Detroit Rock City／Sweet Pain／King Of The Night Time World（２テイク）
     続いて登場するのは、『DESTROYER』の本制作が行われた“Electric Lady Studios”での1975年９月３日ー６日セッション。ただし、演奏自体はアルバム収録用ではなく、作曲やアレンジを固めていく段階のもの。音質も他セッションより荒っぽい試し録り感覚のデモです。「Sweet Pain」のデモは45周年ボックスにもない貴重なものです。
     また、サウンドが荒いとは言ってもそれは録音状況の話。マスター的には各テイクとも過去最高音質なのも確かです。例えば「Detroit Rock City」と「King Of The Night Time World (Take 2)」はギフト盤『DESTROYER DEMOS』でも聴けた演奏ですが、ジェネは段違い。モコモコしていたギフト盤とはまるで違うマスター・クオリティです。

    ●1976年１月：RECORD PLANTスタジオ（12テイク）
    ・Detroit Rock City（３テイク）／Ain't None Of Your Business（２テイク）／Beth（２テイク）／Do You Love Me／Flaming Youth／God Of Thunder（２テイク）／Great Expectations
     そして、本作のメインとなるのが“ALIVE! Tour”の合間を縫って行われた1976年１月の“Record Plant Studios”セッション。７曲・12テイクのデモがたっぷり収録され、演奏もサウンドも完成度が高い。「DESTROYERの別バージョン集」としても楽しめるセクションです。
     また「Ain't None Of Your Business」は最終アルバムには収録されませんでしたが、『DESTROYER』セッションとして有名な曲。カントリー系SSWのベッキー・ホッブズとルー・アンダーソンのペンによる曲で、本作でもピーターの歌入りとインストの２種で収録しています。結果としてKISSが正式に録音することもなければ、ライヴで演奏することもありませんでしたが、後にツアーの前座に起用されたDETECTIVEに提供。1977年のデビュー作『DETECTIVE』に収録されることになりました。

    ◆1970年：CHELSEAデモ（１テイク）
    ・Beck
     ピーター・クリスがCHELSEA時代録音した「Beth」の原曲「Beck」。そもそもこの曲はCHELSEAのメンバーだったマイク・ブランドの妻（ベッキー）をネタにしたものでした。KISSのデモではありませんが、ボーナス的に収録されています。

     以上、全20テイク・１時間２分43秒に及ぶ秘宝集。これまで様々なタイトルに散らばっていたデモ／アウトテイクを一網打尽にしているだけでなく、かつてない最高峰クオリティで貫かれた超・決定盤です。それこそ『DESTROYER』と並べて棚差ししていただきたい永遠の大名盤。永久保存プレスCDで、ここに堂々の誕生です。

    ★大名盤『DESTROYER』のデモ／アウトテイクを一大集成した超・決定盤。現存するデモを総まとめにしたものですが、既発の再構成ではなく、全トラックとも独自の関係者ルートで発掘された過去最高のサウンド・クオリティの新マスター。全20テイク・１時間２分43秒に及ぶ「DESTROYERデモ」の究極盤です。

    ★最初の80枚のみ、ナンバリング入りステッカー付でのリリースとなります。
