    1938年　東京に生まれる。
    1963年　読売アンデパンダン展に出品。
    1964年　初個展を開催（内科画廊/東京）。
    1965年　シェル美術賞展佳作。
    1982年　マイアミ国際版画ビエンナーレ優秀賞受賞。
    1988年　東京から伊豆高原に転居、それに伴い、プリミティブなものに画風が変化する。
    1990年　池田２０世紀美術館で個展を開催。
    1992年　ニューメキシコ州サンタフェで作品発表。
    1993年　「伊豆高原アートフェスティバル」を企画開催、以後継続。
    1994年　伊丹市立美術館で個展を開催。
    2000年　絵本『ウラパン・オコサ』で日本絵本賞受賞。『谷川晃一の自由デッサン塾』放映(NHK教育テレビ)。
