    　インド音楽の神髄はヴォーカルにあり-インド音楽というと、とかくシタールやタブラばかりが脚光を浴びがちですが、実はその神髄はヴォーカルにあるのです。

    　あまり知られていないことですが、インド音楽は声楽をベースとして発展し、シタールなどの演奏方法もボーカルの模倣と言うところに原点があります。

    　インドになぜ西洋的な和音がないのか…それはインド音楽全てが声楽を基礎としている事から自ずから判ってくるのではないでしょうか。

    　さて、このアジョイ・チャクラバルティ。多くの音楽家と同じように、1953年に生まれ、3歳の頃より声楽を父から学び始めました。その後、音楽一筋の人生を歩み、現在では多くいる声楽家の中でもきわめて優れた一人とされています。

    　このアルバムは、最初ちょっと取っつきにくいけど、聞いているとついついはまってしまう、その世界に引き込まれてしまいます。慣れてくると、とても気持ちいい…そんな感じでしょうか。声も柔らかく、優しい感じで良いです。

    　インド音楽をより深く知りたい方にお勧めです。
