    フィッシャー＝ディースカウと最も関係の深かったレーベル「ドイツ・グラモフォン」は、彼が最初にレコーディングをおこなったレーベルでもありました。それは1949年のブラームス『４つの厳粛な歌』に始まり、最晩年に至るまで続くこととなりますが、ここではドイツ・グラモフォンへの初期の録音集ということで、1940年代終わりから1960年代初めにかけての音源を中心に、1972年の珍しい音源や、スピーチなども収録。若きフィッシャー＝ディースカウのみずみずしい美声を、さまざまなタイプの作品で楽しむことができます。（ＨＭＶ）
