    日本の写真家・富山栄美子の写真集『鴨居玲』。画家・鴨居玲のパートナーとして生涯をともにした富山栄美子。

    本書は、鴨居と出会った60年代から自死した1985年までの鴨居の創作や素顔を写し出した一冊です。

    65年にヨーロッパに渡り、各国をまわって写真を撮っていた富山は、66年にフランスで鴨居と出会います。
    「『くらいなあ』という印象をもちました。

    この暗さに興味をもち、写真を撮らせてもらうようになりました」（本書より）。

    本書巻頭には、最初に撮ったポートレートと82年のそれが並べて掲載されています。鴨居との再会は69年のパリ（鴨居は同年「安井賞」を受賞）。

    その後、71年からマドリッドで生活をともにし、77年に帰国。神戸にアトリエを構えます。


    本書では、スペイン、パリ、神戸と区切られていますが、その多くがアトリエでの風景で、筆を握る姿です。

    厳しい表情でキャンバスに向かう姿とは対照的に、愛犬や現地の人々と触れ合う姿も。
    後半「1985年9月7日午前4時30分推定」とのみ書かれたページの先は、画家を失ったアトリエが写し出され、センチメンタルな気分を起こさせます。
