    生年（西暦）1938
    略歴・解説

    福岡県田川郡赤池町（現福智町）に上野焼窯元高鶴夏山の長男として生まれる。昭和32年佐賀県立有田工業学校窯業科を卒業後、家業を継ぐ。同40年独立し粕屋郡久山町に築窯。同43、44年に日本伝統工芸展で連続受賞し日本工芸会正会員となる。ハーバート大学での陶芸指導のため同55年に渡米、ピーボディ博物館の研究員等も務める。以後、極彩色のオブジェや陶板など前衛的な作品を日米で発表する。古上野焼の研究家としても知られる。1997年に福岡県文化賞受賞。
