トルクメン絨毯。

トルクメン族はアフガニスタン北部、イラン北部、トルクメニスタンにまたがる地域で暮らしています。

トルクメン族はたくさんの部族に分かれています。

Yomut、Ersari、Saryk、Salor、Tekkeなどはとても有名ですが、ほかにも様々な部族が存在し、その部族意識はとても強固なものです。

規則正しく並ぶ幾何学モチーフがとても美しい絨毯です。

たて糸、よこ糸ともにウールを使用しています。

ウールは草木などの自然染料を使用して染色されています。

ウールはとても上質で、柔らかく滑らかな手触りの絨毯で、
ハンドスピンで細くよられたウールを繊細な織りで丁寧に仕上げています。

デザインはトルクメン族の部族で受け継がれている伝統のギュルデザイン。

ボーダーのデザインも細密で幾重にも重ねられている手仕事がたくさん入った絨毯です。

ベースカラーはミッドナイトブルー。

真夜中の青と呼ばれるよう、漆黒の中にわずかに青味を感じる深い色合いです。

草木染めならではの自然な色むらも素敵です。

手織り絨毯はとても純粋な手織物です。
