    ■遊牧民バルーチ　カル・ムハマディ
    ここ最近流行しているキリム。キリムとは遊牧民達が織る平織りの敷物のことを指します。キリムの魅力は絨毯に比べると手頃な価格と、遊牧民のセンスがあふれる独得の幾何学模様、色やデザインです。

    日本に輸入されているキリムはイランからのものが多いのですが、こちらのキリムは色々な国を旅し、その中でも一番トライバルで魅力的だと感じたカル・ムハマディ族のトライバルキリムです。遊牧民には数多くの部族がいて、その部族ごとに織られるモチーフやパターンが違います。

    ■伝統的な手法で作られています
    こちらは色の切り替え部分が切れたような特徴がある、スリット織りのキリムです。こちらはデザインを描く糸を変えるとき、前後左右の糸を交差させないようにするための技法の一つです。スリット、もしくはキルキットとも呼ばれます。

    産地や作り手、そしてデザインによってもスリットの現れ方は異なってきます。大きめなスリットが入っているものもありますし、そうでないものもあります。作りての表現したいデザインに応じて変わるものです。

    素材はウール100%、草木染めという伝統的な手法で作られています。もちろん全部手織りですので、一枚作るのに最低でも数ヶ月はかかっています。

    絨毯と違い、薄めの敷物ですので、春、夏、秋に使用されるとピッタリだと思います。
