    1912年4月20日付、デイリーグラフィック - タイタニック号追悼号オリジナルの出品となります。

    ホワイトスターライン社のRMSタイタニック号は、1912年4月14日23時40分処女航海中にニューファンドランド沖の濃霧の中で氷山に衝突しました。当時としては最大かつ最も豪華な定期船で沈没しないと考えられていましたが衝突により5つの防水区画が損傷し沈没、乗船していた2228名のうち生き残ったのはわずか705名で1500名以上の尊い命が失われてしまいました。

    当紙は、当時史上最悪と言われたこの海難事故について詳細に報道した、沈没の5日後にあたる1912年4月20日付発行の追悼特集号の新聞です。イギリスのコレクターの方から譲り受けた当時物であり、よくあるレプリカではありません。

    現存しているものはほとんどなく、まさに貴重な歴史の証人といえます。

    112年前の物なので経年劣化し、特に中折り部分の損傷はありますが、大きな欠損、破れはなく記事は20ページ全て揃った良好な状態で、写真、イラストを交えた紙面は今でも充分読む事ができます。
