    ベリル（緑柱石）の一種のためエメラルドやモルガナイト、レッドベリルなどと同じグループにあるパワーストーンで、アクアマリンはブルーベリルの別名を持ちます。

    「アクアマリン」という名称の語源はラテン語で水の意味のアクアと海の意味のマリナスに由来しています。
    古代ローマの漁夫たちが海難防止と豊漁のお守りにしていたことや、海の精の宝物が海底から浜辺に打ち合げられて宝石になったとされているという言い伝えがあり、アクアマリンは旅の安全のお守りとして一つは持っておきたいストーンです。
