    イームズ DSWシェルチェア
    60～70年代のモダンデザインのパイオニアとして活躍したチャールズ＆レイ イームズ。こちらはイームズ不朽の名作シェルチェアです。ちなみにシェルとは英語で貝殻という意味を持ち、貝殻のような曲面で構成されたチェアになります。誕生したのは1948年、MoMAが開催した家具の国際コンペでした。イームズ夫妻が初めて発表した成型プラスチック製の椅子は、アメリカのデザイナーが消費者のニーズに応えた最初の作品として大きな支持を獲得しました。

    デザイナーについて
    ミッド・センチュリー・モダンの巨匠と称される夫妻は家具、建築、映画、グラフィックなど20世紀のあらゆるデザイン分野で数々の金字塔を残しています。1925年からワシントン大学建築科に在籍したチャールズは、1930年にセントルイスで建築事務所を開設。同じ年、MoMA「オーガニッック・インテリア・デザインコンペ」にエーロ・サーリネンとの共同でエントリーしたプライウッド（成形合板）の椅子で優勝。第二次世界大戦中はアメリカ海軍から依頼された負傷兵の脚の添え木を開発するプロジェクトで、プライウッドの技術を進化させました。

    その他、写真の通り、ベース自体にカビなどの汚れが付着しているものがあります。透明の保護フィルムの内側なのでご購入後にきれいに拭いて取れない場合はサンドペーパーなどで磨くと目立たなくなると思います。在庫処分品となり複数在庫があるので写真などは参考となり出荷ごとに傷や汚れなどの状態は様々ですので実物優先にてお願い致します。発送時は分解して組立式の状態での出荷となる場合があります、あと外箱が不足しているので再利用した外箱やエアパッキンなどでの簡易梱包となります。
