      悲しい日本の武士である。高杉晋作ほど偉い人はいません。20代で奇兵隊を組織して農民や武士を組織、その時代では珍しい鉄砲を兵に持たせて異国の侵略者と戦ったのである。惜しいかな 軸装は古く巻き折れなどある。 肺結核で早世したが、大和魂を初めて外人に見せつけたのである。軸装は半切で今はあまり見ない工芸である、これが肉筆であれば何百万円もする

    高杉氏は戦国時代以来、代々毛利氏に仕え藩政に関わる要職を歴任したある。
    晋作は通称で、諱は春風（はるかぜ）。他に東一、和助。字は暢夫（ちょうふ）。号は楠樹、東行（とうぎょう）で、東行狂生、西海一狂生、東洋一狂生とも名乗った。ほかに些々などがある。変名を谷 潜蔵、谷 梅之助、備後屋助一郎、三谷和助、祝部太郎、宍戸刑馬、西浦松助など。のち、谷 潜蔵とも改名。
