    文春新書1028。株式会社文藝春秋発行。定価830円＋税。

    ■先般は第170回 芥川賞受賞作品が発表され早速新刊書店の店頭に平積み
    された由。僭越乍ら私は出版された本を毎回捲るのですが、最近の芥川賞
    受賞作品に文学の薫りがするものが尠くて、
    　　宛ら【無香料のTonic】を頭に噴霧した時の様に感じて仕舞う
    のは畢竟私丈でしょうか。もっと
    　　 「清涼感溢れる爽やかなCitrus、柑橘系の香りが欲しい」
    ですね。とは云え、余り噎せ返るものも禁物ですが…。(笑)

    ■詰まり、管見乍ら何だかどの作品も文章表現が陳腐で、Vividに迫る様な
    穿った処が無く、「流石に物書きだな～、小説家だな～」と感心させられ
    る作品が見当たらないですね。質が堕ちたと言いますか…。
    今は活字離れが進んでますから、出版社の「何とか売りたい」と云う思惑
    と、時代の趨勢でしょうか、出版社に迎合した選考委員とが合従連衡して
    「大した事の無い作品を芥川賞に昇華させてる」様な風情が有りますね。

    ■該書はまだ文学の薫りがする頃の芥川賞の選考会の様子を垣間見せて呉
    れます。色々選考委員の間で権謀術数が働いて面白いです。

    ●新刊書店で購入後「積ん読」状態の儘です。綺麗な保存状態です。
    ●古物に殊更神経過敏な方には不向きです。回避為さるのが賢明か
