    【バリーとは】
    ★1851年にカール・フランツ・バリーは、弟とともに「Bally&Co」を設立。ゴム製リボンとサスペンダーの製造業を引き継ぐ形でリボンメーカーから開始。パリに出張した際に見たパリジェンヌの靴に魅了され、靴の開発をスタートさせる。
    ★その後、工場設立、スチーム機の導入などに始まる生産ライン確立と着々と規模を拡大し、1870年代には、アメリカやイギリスの最新の技術を取り入れ、製造工程の効率化に成功。効率的な生産のみならず、素材の品質と、洗練されたデザインでバリーの靴は、高級品として取り扱われた。その後、イギリス、フランス、ドイツなどヨーロッパ各地に進出。この頃には年間で200万足を生産するまでに成長した。
