    天明元年薩摩藩主島津重豪の次男として薩摩藩江戸藩邸で生　仝６年急逝した中津藩主奥平昌男の末期養子として家督を継ぐ　寛政６年従五位下大膳大夫に叙任する　文化７年従四位下に昇進　仝１４年侍従　蘭癖大名として知られ歴代のオランダ商館長と親交を結びフレデリック・ヘンドリックというオランダ名までもらっている　特にフォン・シーボルトとの交流は有名　藩医であった前野良沢らが『解体新書』の翻訳で辞書がないため苦労した話を聞き、文化７年に『蘭語訳撰』、文政５年には『バスタールド辞書』を出版、江戸後期の西洋文化導入に多大な役割を果たした、豊前中津藩第５代藩主、奥平昌高(１７８１～１８５５)の『俳句三節』懐紙幅　紙本　上下パー中緞子装　３１×４３(本紙)ｃｍ　識箱付　蘭癖大名として広く知られる奥平昌高の肉筆です、この機会にぜひご入札ください
