    作家説明■田中佐一郎 タナカサイチロウ 明治治33(1900)年10月24日 ～昭和42(1967)年2月9日 京都市生 京都市立絵画専門学校予科〔大正14年〕卒  
    14歳の頃から国井応陽、阿部春峰に日本画を学ぶ。大正14年上京し、川端画学校石膏部に籍をおき、そのかたわら安井曽太郎に師事して洋画に転向。
    15年の帝展に初入選し、昭和3年一九三〇年協会研究所に移り、同展に出品、また二科展に出品した。5年独立美術協会結成に参加し、その第1回展に
    「裸婦三像」ほか2点を出品し独立賞を受ける。7年から8年にかけてフランスに留学。9年独立美術協会会員。13年には従軍画家として中国、フィリ
    ピン、ビルマなどに赴いた。他の作品に「黄衣少女」「親鸞」など。
