    明治時代の画家であり日本で最初に洋画・裸婦像を描いた百武兼行を曾祖父に持つ。
    1939年佐賀県生まれ
    1959年 同志社大学入学、在学中より京都美術研究所
    　　　　新宿美術研究所で油絵を学ぶ
    1965年 春陽会展に初出品初入賞
    1974年 第七回ロータリアン賞受賞
    個展・グループ展
    地中海沿岸を中心に40年余り取材旅行
    1986年には 渋谷代官山画廊にて個展
    1995年以降も 個展多数開催（東京駅、銀座、新宿、横浜、横須賀、その他）
    南仏、スペイン、モロッコなどの地中海沿岸の国々に心惹かれ、40年以上にわたり取材を続けている。まばゆく輝く紺碧の空、草や木々の緑、そよぐ風など、明るい色と重厚なマチエールで描きあげた作品は見る者の心を和ませてくれます。
