    ヨルク・シュマイサー（Jrg Schmeisser, 1942-2012）はドイツで生まれ、日本に学び、オーストラリアを拠点に各地を旅し、世界を舞台に活躍した銅版画家です。
       
     「旅する銅版画家」と称されたシュマイサーは中東・アジア・南極に至る世界各地を訪ね、そこで出会った風景や事物を銅版画に刻みました。
    彼が描くすべての底流をなしていたテーマが「変化」です。
    世界と彼自身に起こる全ての変化を版画の画面にとらえようとする試みは美しい作品を作り出しました。
