    FTDIのUSB-TTLシリアルコンバータケーブルです。見た目はコネクタが付いたUSBケーブルですが、USB-Aコネクタ部分にFT232RLが内蔵されています。基板上にピンヘッダを用意するだけで、PCとのシリアル通信が可能となります。「普段は不要だけどメンテナンス時にシリアル通信を行いたい」といった用途等に最適です。
    信号の入力・出力レベルは5Vです。VCCピン(赤色)の出力は5V出ます。末端は2.54mmピッチのメスコネクタになっています。ユーザ基板上のピンヘッダに差し込んで使えるようになっています。
    ピンアサイン(信号線は5V入出力) 黒：GND 茶：CTS(入力) 赤：VCC(5V電源出力 ※最大供給電流：75mA) 橙：TXD(出力) 黄：RXD(入力) 緑：RTS(出力)
    USBバスパワーによる電源供給が可能で、別に電源を用意する必要がありません。また、TTLロジックレベルですので、外付けのレベル変換IC無しにマイコンと接続ができます。
    これらのケーブルは、 Microsoft WHQL 認定 VCP ドライバ（ Windows / Apple Mac / Linux 用）に対応しています。これらはすべてFTDI Webサイトから無償で入手できます。
    FTDIのUSB-TTLシリアルコンバータケーブルです。一見ただのUSBの引き出しケーブルのようですが、USBプラグの部分にFT232RLが埋め込まれてあり、これでれっきとしたUSBシリアルのインターフェースになっているのです。

    これから基板を起こされる方はこのピン配置で設計しておくと、このケーブルを差し込むだけでPCとのインターフェースがとれるようになるので大変便利です。メンテナンスやデバッグ用にお勧めします。
