    茶屋辻文様とは、江戸時代中期以降に大名以上の武家や公家の婦人や御殿女中の夏の正装用（麻布）として用いられた柄といわれています。 風景模様の一種で、鳥瞰図のようにパノラマ的に模様を配しているのが特徴です。 現代では、夏に限らず帯や着物に四季を通じて幅広く用いられる伝統文様です。

    刺繍針に通せない太い金糸・銀糸を駒（こま、糸巻き）に巻きつけ、下絵に沿って転がして紋様をつくり出す技法。 紋様となる糸を綴じ糸で留める際、デザインによって、平面になるように留めたり糸の束を撚って留めたりすることで紋様の複雑で繊細なニュアンスを表現できる。
