    シチズンの「スーパーデラックス」です。発売当時「日本一薄型」をうたい大ヒット(1958年3月の発売から1960年7月までに100万個を販売)したシチズン「デラックス」の上位モデル。「デラックス」はシチズン間接中三針系統の原点であり、23石の多石機械もラインナップされるなど“高級”を意識した製品であることは間違いありません。デラックス発売は1958年3月、同年の12月にデラックスの上位モデル「スーパーデラックス」が発売されました。
     同時期にセイコー(諏訪精工舎製造)が発売した国産時計初の本格高級腕時計である「ロードマーベル」(1958年5月～/「マーベル」の上位モデル)を意識したのは明らかでしょう。精度は当然のこと、外装・機械仕上げともに“スーパー”の名に恥じない高級な仕様となっています。「スーパーデラックス」の初号機は23石の3姿勢調整品。その後、23石5姿勢調整品、25石5姿勢調整品へと進化していったようです。1959年9月にスイスクロノメーター検定機関において23石モデルがクロノメーター検定を受ける機会があり、このときには優秀級のクロノメーターに相当する精度があると評価されました。
     ここで紹介しているものは25石の赤金メッキ機械、12時下の“CITIZEN SUPER DELUXE”の文字が浮字で、ケースは８０ミクロンの金張りになっており、状態のよい美品です。
