    京都の陶芸家であった河村喜太郎(1899-1966)は、昭和25年(1950)猿投の土に魅せられ、次男の河村又次郎(1930-2006)とともに京都から豊田市平戸橋に移り住み、築窯し、「さなげ陶房」と名付け陶芸活動を行いました。平戸橋では、京都の繊細な色絵磁器造りから一変して、土くさい土器を感じさせる独特の作風を完成しました。昭和36年(1961)鎌倉の北大路魯山人の陶房を受け継ぎ、其中窯を築きます。昭和41年(1966)、喜太郎が急逝したため、又次郎が其中窯を受継ぎ、家族とともに鎌倉へ移り住みます。平成11年(1999)、又次郎の次男・河村喜平(1961-)が平戸橋の「さなげ陶房」を「喜中窯」として再興しました。なお、其中窯は現在又次郎の長男・河村喜史※(1959-)が継いでいます。猿投の土は鎌倉でも代々使われています。
