古九谷 吉田屋 山代越中谷 花鳥紋 飾大徳利 27cm
線描きのはやさ、且つ適度の重厚感、全体の品格　魅力的な作品です！

全体に細かな貫入があります。
山代越中谷時代/1826...1831　かと思われます。

吉田屋伝右衛門が目指した九谷焼は古九谷の中でも、「青手」で
青、黄、緑、紫などの濃彩で余白なく塗りつぶした様式のもので、絵も江戸後期としては非常に珍しく大胆な意匠。
手作り、手描きの手間ひまを惜しまないものであった。
図柄の奇抜なものが多く、近代の絵画のような印象を受ける。

モチーフを強調する大胆な構図、厚く盛り上げられた濃厚な色彩の上絵の具、
その下にびっしりと描き込まれた地文（本作品の場合　雲紋）が、作品に躍動感を与え、古九谷様式の魅力を称えている。

吉田屋の上絵を支える素地作りは、本多清兵衛が主工として担当したとされます。
若杉窯を支えた本多貞吉の養子。源右衛門や丈助と同じく、若杉窯ゆかりの陶工です。
素地自体は灰色。厚手の素地の塗り埋め作品に多い、いわゆる「鼠素地」です。
陶石に２割ほど粘土を混ぜているといいます。
昔はこのタイプは九谷時代だと言われていましたが、最近の研究では、山代に移ってからも 作られ続けていたらしいとのこと。
透明釉がかかった白地部分がマットな（艶のない）感じで、細かい貫入が見られるのもこのタイプの特徴。
こういう素地は、山代に移ってから作られ始めたのでしょう。
