    素晴らしい櫛目壺です。

    日本六古窯の一つ、兵庫県立杭の丹波焼を代表する作家に「大上昇氏」がいます。
    丹波焼の発祥は、鎌倉時代と言われ、鎌倉から桃山時代にかけては、窖窯を使い紐造による壷、甕（かめ）鉢等に、自然釉（灰が熔けたもの）が掛かった作品を作っていました。
    江戸時代より「鉄砲窯」や「蛇窯」が使われ、轆轤成形と変化し、釉も使用され生活雑貨品を大量に作る様になります。 
    注： 鉄砲窯とは、横幅約２ｍ、高さ約８０cm、 長さ６０ｍ程で、煙突は無く、最奥の部屋に蜂の巣状の穴が開き、煙を逃がしています。
     現存する窯は、「日本では、立杭以外には無く、古い様式の窯」で、山麓の斜面を利用して築かれています。先年、無形文化財に指定され、丹波焼も伝統工芸品の指定を受けています。

       ① 経歴
        1929年 兵庫県丹波上立杭にある大熊製陶所に生まれます。
        1951年 関西学院大学を卒業し、生家で陶業に入ります。
        1966年  日展に初入選を果たし、作品は外務省のお買い上げになります。
        1968年 自宅の庭に登窯を築き、「昇陽窯」（しょうようがま）と名付けます。
        1970年 日本伝統工芸展に入選します。
        1972年 大阪、松坂屋で、個展を開催し、「灰釉手桶水指」が高松宮お買上となります。
        1973年 日本陶芸展に入選し、南米巡回展出品となります。
        1983年 日本伝統工芸士に認定されます。
