    橋本雅邦
    日本画家。江戸生。川越藩御用絵師橋本晴園養邦の子。幼名は千太郎、のち長卿。別号に克己斎・酔月画生等。狩野勝川院雅信の門。フェノロサ・岡倉天心と協力、東美校初代教授となる。また日本美術院を創立、菱田春草・横山大観・下村観山・西郷孤月・川合玉堂らの俊秀を育てる。のち玉堂らと二葉会を結成、画宝会を組織した。狩野芳崖と共に明治画壇の巨擘。帝室技芸員。明治41年(1908)歿、74才。

    川合玉堂
    日本画家。愛知県生。名は芳三郎。別号に偶庵。望月玉泉・幸野楳嶺・橋本雅邦に師事。日本の自然を詩情豊かに平明に描き続け、独自の画風を確立。横山大観・竹内栖鳳と共に日本画壇の三巨匠。帝室技芸員・帝国美術院会員。文化功労者。文化勲章受章。昭和32年(1957)歿、83才。
