    京都府京都市に生まれる
    1981年幸野楳嶺に師事
    1884年第2回内国絵画共進会で褒状
    1886年京都青年絵画研究会に参加
    1891年京都青年絵画共進会で1等賞
    1900年渡欧、パリ万国博覧会で銅牌、翌年帰国
    1907年文展開設により毎回審査員
    1909年京都市立絵画専門学校教授（-24年）
    1918年国画創作協会顧問
    1937年文化勲章、帝国芸術院会員
    1942年神奈川県で死去
