    作家略歴

    文政八年（一八二五）一二月八日?明治二七年（一八九四）五月二〇日。
    一説に文政六年生。仁蓮社民誉定阿、字あざなは自在。
    清浄華院六六世。布教家として著名。肥後国天草郡一町田（熊本県天草市）の田代秀輔の長男として生まれる。
    同村の崇円寺で得度し、増上寺に掛錫かしゃくして法誉大雲に師事。
    章誉智典より伝法を受け、嘉永四年（一八五一）帰郷し同郡久玉村無量寺に住し、
    安政六年（一八五九）師籍の崇円寺に転住した。
    明治六年（一八七三）大講義を拝命、翌七年長崎大音寺に住し、
    同二一年鎌倉光明寺九九世、同二三年小石川伝通院六七世を経て、
    同二五年一〇月に清浄華院に晋董。
    さきに焼失した大書院、小書院を再建し、御影堂再建の半ばで入寂。世寿七〇歳。
