福を招き吉運を呼ぶとされ、昔から多くの人々に親しまれてきた布袋様。
七福神の中でただ一人実在した福の神として知られ、生前より弥勒菩薩の化身として崇拝を集めたといいます。
常に大きな袋を背負って歩き、袋に詰まった財宝を人々に分け与えました。
布袋様の施しを受けた者は皆富者となり、幸福を得たといわれます。
布袋様の頭と太鼓腹をなでると吉運が訪れるといういわれがあります。

この布袋様は、櫛や印鑑などの材料として使われるとても堅いツゲの木を彫刻した布袋様です！
バランスも良く小振りなので置き場所も選ばず飾れて、お顔もとてもよろしいです！
