    ＝＝＝佐波理とは＝＝＝

    佐波理綴は、京都 御寮織司 六家筆頭の井関家の血を引く織物作家の池口定男が、室内の灯りに輝く織を求めて生み出した綴織技法です。

    ダイヤモンドカットにヒントを見出し、10年にもわたる試行錯誤を経て、「自然光の下では落ち着いた雰囲気でありながら、ひとたび室内照明に照らされると、内面から滲み出るような光彩を放ち、光の当たる角度によってオーロラ現象のように色彩が変化して、幻想的な表情が生まれる」そんな新しい織技法にたどりつきました。

    正倉院展で銅合金の鋺「佐波理加盤（さはりのかばん）」と出会い、その奥深いところからにじみ出る光に、新しい織技法と相通じるものを感じたことから「佐波理」と名付けられたこの綴織は、「織の宝石」の異名を持ち、誕生以来40年にわたり、帯をはじめ、着物、打掛、小物、インテリアなどで強い人気を誇っています。
