    はじめに
    高田誠（1913～1992）は埼玉県出身の洋画家です。埼玉県立浦和中学校の在学中に第16回二科展に「浦和風景」で初入選を果たし注目を集めました。プロの絵描きの登竜門とされた二科展で中学生の入選は珍しく、新聞に大きく報じられました。その後、洋画家・安井曾太郎に師事し、二科技塾に入りました。そこで熊谷守一、山下新太郎、有島生馬らの有名作家のもとで学びました。戦後は日展、一水会展を中心に制作を発表し、晩年には文化功労者に選ばれました。埼玉大学教育学部美術科講師や玉川大学客員教授として後進の育生に励みました。1973年～（昭和48年） - 日展理事長。
     
    高田誠の作風について
    主に風景画や静物画を点描で鮮やかに描いています。高田誠以外に有名な点描作家は西村龍介や中根寛などがいますが、両社とも西洋の洋館や城を中心に描いてきました。高田誠は花や山の風景などを中心に描き鮮やかな色使いが印象的です。
    点描以外の技法で描くと画面が強すぎてバランスが崩れてしまう色合いでも高田誠の手にかかれば全体が調和して違和感が無い作品に仕上がっています。類い稀な色彩感覚と技術力があるから成しえる技です。
     
    高田誠の価値について
    とても人気の高い画家であり、小品でも傑作は150万以上で取引されています。
    鑑定団にて100万円つけた作品は、ややお若いころの作品です。とても素晴らしいのですが本作は充実期の一番評価の高い時期の
    名作です。かなりお安くでしてしまいました。依頼者の要望にて次回出品あれば大幅値上げご容赦下さい。
