    イギリスの重要な劇作家マーティン・クリンプの台本、ジョージ・ベンジャミンの音楽による『リトゥン・オン・スキン』は2012年のエクサン・プロヴァンス音楽祭で初演、大成功をおさめると、その後、ヨーロッパ各地の劇場で上演を重ねる人気作品となっています。
    暴力的な保護者は、人間の一生や天使たちの偉業、地獄の業火に焼かれる罪人や天国の家族たちを描いた啓蒙に満ちた本を描くようにと少年に命じ、その謎めいた少年は保護者の家で暮らすようになります。少年の出現によって、保護者に支配されている若い妻アニエスの目覚めを促し、衝撃的で悲劇的なエンディングへと導いていきます。
    イギリス演劇界で高い評価を受けるケイティ・ミッチェルの演出は、この暗く張り詰めた台本を独創的なプロダクションの中に生き生きと描き出し、オペラの中に存在している過去と現在の要素を見事に絡み合わせます。ベンジャミン自身が指揮を行なっています。
