    かつてレーザーディスクで親しまれていたブリュッヘンのエロイカが復活。
    1987年の収録で、ブリュッヘンは当時53歳、指揮棒を持たないスタイルで結成6年目の18世紀オーケストラを巧みにリード、
    呼吸の絶妙さや、煽ったり歌わせたりの面白さ、ライヴならではの生き生きとした覇気に富む演奏を展開します。

    【ブリュッヘン・プロフィール】
    1934年10月30日にアムステルダムに誕生。アムステルダム音楽院でケース・オッテンからリコーダーとフルートを学び、アムステルダム大学では音楽学を修めています。
    卒業後、21歳で王立ハーグ音楽院の教授の職を得る一方、リコーダー奏者、フルート奏者としても演奏活動を展開、非常に優れた演奏技術と研究に裏打ちされた解釈によってすぐに頭角を現すようになり、まずテレフンケン（後のテルデック）・レーベルにレコーディングをおこなうようになり、その後、1970年代にはセオン・レーベルで数多くのアルバムを制作することになります。
    キャリアの初期はモダン楽器奏者だったブリュッヘンですが、やがて古楽器へと転向、グスタフ・レオンハルトやアンナー・ビルスマ、クイケン兄弟、ニコラウス・アーノンクールといった奏者たちとの数多くの共演を通じて解釈を深めていきます。
    1972年にはリコーダ・アンサンブル「サワークリーム」を結成して、リコーダーの可能性をさらに探究、また、フラウト・トラヴェルソ奏者としても手腕を発揮し、古楽器フルート音楽の見事な解釈を披露していきます。
    1981年になるとブリュッヘンは気の合う仲間を中心に古楽器楽団「18世紀オーケストラ」を結成、今度は指揮者として、バロックからロマン派に至る音楽の本来の姿を探求する道に踏み出すことになります。演奏会のほかレコーディングや映像収録にも活躍した指揮者としてのブリュッヘンは、やがてモダン楽器による通常のオーケストラにも客演するようになって活動の幅を広げます。2009年には新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団にも客演して話題となっていました。（HMV）
