    モーガン（モルガン）・リング　　

    モーガン（モルガン）ダラーは1878～1904年、1921年にアメリカで発行された
    有名な大型1ドル銀貨です。
    自由の女神像とアメリカの象徴でもある鷲をデザインしたもので、最も代表的な
    アメリカコインです。
    その1921年のモルガンコインを使用したリングのご紹介です。　
    　
    かつてネイティブアメリカン達が銀貨をジュエリーに加工し始めたのは1800年代、
    スペイン人がもたらした銀の加工技術は、彼らの独創性により新たな文化を
    作り出しました。1960年代にはヒッピー達もコインをアートとして加工するようになり、 このリングが作られるようになりました。
    現在もサンフランシスコ等で、ヒッピーアーチスト達に受け継がれています。

    作り方は上の解説にもあるように1枚の銀貨に穴を開け、少しづつリング状に
    形を整えていきます。コインの柄が崩れない様に加工していく技術は大変難しく
    時間もかかります。その為1日で製作される数も限られ少量生産です。
