    1959年 - 厚生大臣賞（紙芝居『お月さまいくつ』）
    1961年 - サンケイ児童出版文化賞（絵本『あいうえおのほん』）
    1973年 - ボローニャ国際児童展グラフィック賞（絵本『ことりのくるひ』）
    1974年 - ライプツィヒ国際書籍展銅賞（絵本『戦火のなかの子どもたち』）


    作家履歴
    1918年 - 12月15日、陸軍築城本部の建築技師である岩崎正勝と、女学校の教師である文江との間に、
    母の単身赴任先福井県武生市で長女として生まれる。
    1919年 - 東京都に移る。
    1933年 - 岡田三郎助に師事し、デッサン・油絵を習う。
    1937年 - 小田周平に師事し、藤原行成流の書を習う。
    1939年 - 4月、婿養子を迎え結婚。6月、夫の勤務地である満州・大連に渡る。
    1940年 - 2月、夫の自殺により帰国。
    1942年 - 中谷泰に師事し、再び油絵を描き始める。
    1944年 - 4月、女子義勇隊に同行して満州・勃利に渡る。夏、戦況悪化のため帰国。
    1945年 - 5月、空襲で家を焼かれ、母の実家長野県松本市に疎開。終戦を迎える。
    1946年 - 疎開先の松本で日本共産党に入党。同年上京して人民新聞社の記者となる。
    日本共産党宣伝部・芸術学校に入り丸木俊に師事する。
    1949年 - 松本善明と知り合う。紙芝居『お母さんの話』を描き、翌年文部大臣賞を受賞する。
    1950年 - 1月、松本善明と結婚。
    1951年 - 4月、長男・猛誕生。
    1952年 - 東京都練馬区下石神井に家を建てる（後のちひろ美術館・東京）。
    1974年 - 8月8日、肝臓癌のため死去。享年55。
    1977年 - 9月、自宅跡地にいわさきちひろ絵本美術館（後のちひろ美術館・東京）開館。
    1997年 - 4月、長野県安曇郡松川村に安曇野ちひろ美術館開館。
